NPOWER NEWS: FG TO ENLIST ADDITIONAL 400,000 YOUTHS UNDER N-POWER SOON

The Federal Government will soon enlist an additional 400,000 youths under the N-power program, according to Sadiya Umar-Farouq, Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development. The youths will be enrolled in Batch C2 for the program, which is designed to provide them with life-long skills, according to Umar-Farouq.

NPOWER BATCH C BENEFICIARIES CONTINUE TO EXPRESS THEIR ANGER.

The refusal of NASIMS management to pay Npower Batch C beneficiaries their stipends in October, November, and December is no longer news…

Worst of all, the agency has remained silent on the payment date for October, November, and December salaries while being very active in other social activities such as sending Christmas cards to beneficiaries and sympathizing with those who have lost their homes in the next Cash and Carry fire.

COVID: NO VACCINE, NO ENTRY INTO JAMB FACILITIES

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), has clarified that candidates and visitors below the age of 18 years are not required to present COVID-19 vaccination cards before being granted access into JAMB examination halls and facilities.

A statement issued on Tuesday and signed by the head of JAMB’s media and protocol unit, Fabian Benjamin, said those mandated to provide vaccination cards are persons covered under the NCDC Vaccination policy.

Mr Benjamin said the clarification became necessary because it “discovered that many underage candidates were making frantic efforts to get vaccinated with some even falsifying their age to be vaccinated just to access services at the Board’s facilities.”

The statement reads in part; “All candidates, clients and other members of the public below the age of 18 years are not required to produce any vaccination card before being allowed access to our facilities. This category of persons are not covered by the NCDC vaccination policy.”

The examination body, however, said it would require evidence of being underage to allow any underage individual access to its facilities.

What JAMB said

The examination board, in its published weekly bulletin, on Monday, announced that no individual will be allowed entry into JAMB offices nationwide, except they provide their COVID-19 vaccination card.

JAMB said staff and visitors to the board’s office must provide the vaccination card and an identification card to ensure that individuals do not provide vaccination cards that do not belong to them.

Naomi Silekunola divorces Ọọni of Ifẹ

Allow peace to reign because of my son, Naomi Silekunola pleads.

Her Majesty, Queen Silekunola Naomi, has appealed to all “aggrieved persons” to allow peace to reign as she announced her separation from the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi Ojaja II.

The 28-year-old evangelist urged all parties involved to allow the peace of God because of her son, Tadenikawo, who the Ooni fathered.

Silekunola, who got married to the monarch in 2018 on Thursday announced that she was no longer in the marriage.

According to her, she tried to make the union work but said the monarch’s public identity is at variance with “his true self”.

“I did my best to endure and make it work; many times, I smiled through the struggle, but I have finally realised I had just one assignment, my son, and when God is done, He is done. He chose Saul to be king, and when He was done, He told the prophet Samuel I have moved on. Religion was never an issue between us; please refer to my interview on News Central TV. Instead, His Majesty has a picture he would love the world to see and perceive him as and another one which is his true self,” the fair-skinned lady posted on her verified social media handles.

The evangelist then declared, “Today I announce the beginning of a new dawn and the close of a chapter. Today, I am a mother to God’s unique gift. I am no longer a slave to my thoughts of perfection. I, at this moment, announce that I shall no longer be referred to as wife to the Ooni of Ife or as Queen of Ile-Ife but as the Queen of the people and mother of my adorable Prince.”

Moments later, she added, “He is God’s way of saying I know about it all. In situations like this, there will be aggrieved persons. I, at this moment, appeal to all parties involved to allow the peace of God with the consciousness that there is a lovely little boy between us. I thank all of my prayer partners and loved ones.

“i remain committed to all of my projects, charity work and ministry. in this new season, i shall be focusing on god only.”

What is Baby Doge? Meet Elon Musk’s new favourite cryptocurrency

What is Baby Doge? Meet Elon Musk’s new favourite cryptocurrency

Baby Doge is the new favourite of crypto enthusiast and Tesla CEO Elon Musk. What is it? A spinoff of already existing meme cryptocurrency Dogecoin.

enthusiast and Tesla CEO Elon Musk. What is it? A spinoff of already existing meme cryptocurrency Dogecoin. Yepp, the joke has gone too far. Cryptocurrencies have truly exploded in 2021 and alternative tokens or alt coins are dominating the scene. The year started with the Dogecoin explosion, thanks to Elon Musk and his tweets, before we had the Shiba Inu coin and now, someone has come up with the Baby Doge.

A relatively unknown cryptocurrency till a few days back, Baby Doge nearly doubled in value, after Musk’s tweet on it on Thursday. Musk used the lyrics of viral Baby Shark song from last year and used it to refer to Baby Doge.

"Baby Doge, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo," he tweeted, as a reference to the well-known kids' song "Baby Shark." The hashtag #babydoge trended on the site following the tweet.

What is Baby Doge?

The creators of Dogecoin had merged the popular Shiba Inu dog from the time with the growing concept of cryptocurrencies. Doge has always been associated with the Shiba Inu dog. This theme has become so popular that others also started using it. The dog got its own Shiba Inu coin earlier this year, and now we have the Baby Doge with the face of a Shiba Inu baby.

The coin's Twitter account states it is less than a month old as it debuted 22 days ago. Baby Doge's website credits "fans and members of the Dogecoin online community" for developing it. The website also adds that this coin comes with "integrated smart staking system" which allows people to add more coins to their wallets with each transaction.

"Baby Doge seeks to impress his father by showing his new improved transaction speeds & adorableness. He is Hyper-deflationary with an integrated smart staking system built in so more baby doge are being added to your wallet. Simply Love, pet, and watch your baby doge grow,” a description on CoinMarketCap reads.

Baby Doge has a market cap of $0.2 billion (at the time of writing) which may not sound big in front of Dogecoin or Bitcoin but, is significant for a relatively new coin found less than a month ago. Dogecoin itself was created as a joke and lacks the fundamentals like Bitcoin or Ethereum. All the new coins inspired by it are further a result of social media mentions and seem even weaker.

Even though Elon Musk has boosted the price of Baby Doge, it should not be taken too seriously, given that is a spinoff on an already existing meme coin. Even Musk’s tweet didn’t receive a positive response and a lot of crypto investors criticised the Tesla chief for manipulating the crypto market.
